Disney Cruise Line is testing plain silicone wristbands for stateroom access aboard the Disney Treasure. Guests sailing from Port Canaveral on Saturday found no Key to the World cards waiting. Anyone without a DisneyBand+ was handed a wristband at terminal check-in instead.
The bands only work for this one sailing and go back into collection bins when the ship returns October 17. Disney calls it a limited trial and has promised nothing wider, but it is worth watching: if the trial goes well, the familiar key card could be on its way out.
