Legend of the Seas is in the middle of her first transatlantic crossing. The third Icon Class ship left Barcelona on Sunday, called at Cadiz, Spain on Wednesday, and is now on the longest stretch of the voyage: nine straight days at sea before she reaches Fort Lauderdale on November 7.
Her Florida debut comes with a small surprise. Royal Caribbean has added a first Florida sailing on November 8, a three-night trip to Perfect Day at CocoCay, ahead of the ship's official naming ceremony on November 11, when retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Lori J. Robinson will serve as godmother. Her first full Caribbean season then opens with the eight-night Southern Caribbean sailing on November 14, calling at Aruba and Curacao, followed by six-night Western Caribbean sailings.
What it means for your sailing: if you are booked on Legend's first Caribbean season, nothing about your itinerary changes, and the ship is on schedule. If you want to be among the very first guests aboard from Florida, the added November 8 three-night CocoCay sailing is the earliest chance, three days before the naming ceremony and six days before the Southern Caribbean debut.
