Liberty of the Seas Returns to Galveston Fresh Off Her 2026 Amplification

Liberty of the Seas has crossed the Atlantic from Southampton and is homeporting in Galveston again, sailing 4- and 5-night Western Caribbean cruises to Cozumel and Costa Maya through April 2028 after her spring 2026 Royal Amplified refit.

Liberty of the Seas docked in Halifax under a blue sky

Liberty of the Seas is Texas-bound again. The Freedom Class ship left Southampton on October 16 on a 15-night transatlantic crossing and now settles into Galveston as her homeport, with Galveston sailings beginning October 31, 2026.

She returns fresh off a spring 2026 Royal Amplified refit in Brest. The amplification added El Loco Fresh and the Cantina Fresca bar on the pool deck, brought in Izumi sushi and hibachi in place of Sabor, added the Lime and Coconut pool bar, and expanded the casino.

From Galveston, Liberty sails 4- and 5-night Western Caribbean cruises to Cozumel and Costa Maya, with the program running through April 2028. It is a lot of ship for a short cruise: a full Freedom Class ship with the Royal Promenade, the Perfect Storm slides and Tidal Wave, on sailings that fit into a long weekend.

What it means for your sailing: if you are booked on Liberty of the Seas from Galveston, nothing about your booking changes, and you sail on the freshly amplified ship, so the new venues, including El Loco Fresh, Izumi and the Lime and Coconut, are part of your cruise from day one. If you have been waiting to book, the 4- and 5-night Cozumel and Costa Maya sailings run through April 2028.
