Oasis of the Seas Swaps Bahamas for Halifax as Storm Reroutes October 18 Sailing

Royal Caribbean has rerouted Oasis of the Seas' October 18 seven-night sailing from Bayonne, New Jersey, to Halifax, Nova Scotia, canceling Port Canaveral, Perfect Day at CocoCay, and Nassau as an East Coast storm makes the Bahamas run unsafe.

Oasis of the Seas at sea

Royal Caribbean told guests late Saturday that Oasis of the Seas' seven-night sailing departing Cape Liberty in Bayonne on Sunday, October 18, will skip its Bahamas itinerary entirely. With a storm-force system developing off the East Coast, the ship will sail north instead, spending an overnight in Halifax, Nova Scotia, from Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning, with the rest of the week at sea.

The canceled calls are Port Canaveral, Perfect Day at CocoCay, and Nassau. Affected guests will receive refundable onboard credit based on stateroom category plus a 50 percent future cruise credit for each paid guest, and prepaid shore excursions at the canceled ports will be refunded automatically.
