The Tourism Authority of Thailand is courting Royal Caribbean Group for more port calls. TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool met with company executives last week to discuss marketing cooperation, new cruise routes, and upgrades to port infrastructure.
On the table: new routes linking Phuket with Phang Nga and Krabi, and Laem Chabang with Rayong and Chanthaburi, plus terminal upgrades at Laem Chabang. Royal Caribbean Group ships made 181 Thai port calls in 2025, carrying around 424,000 passengers and generating an estimated 2.12 billion baht in spending. Thailand clearly wants that number to keep climbing.
