Vision of the Seas Skips Bermuda for Saint John, Guests Cannot Disembark

Vision of the Seas traded its Bermuda call for an overnight in Saint John, New Brunswick, where guests cannot disembark, after a storm system made the Bermuda route unsafe. Affected guests receive onboard credit based on stateroom type.

Vision of the Seas at sea

Royal Caribbean notified guests late Friday that the 5-night Vision of the Seas sailing departing Baltimore on Saturday, October 17, would skip its Bermuda call due to a mid-Atlantic storm system packing 30 to 50 knot winds and swells up to 24 feet on the Bermuda route. Instead, the ship will make an overnight call in Saint John, New Brunswick, from 6:30 p.m. Monday, October 19, until 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 20.

The catch: guests will not be permitted to disembark in Saint John, making the overnight the sailing's only port call and effectively a cruise to nowhere. Royal Caribbean is offering onboard credit as compensation, $75 for inside and outside staterooms, $150 for balconies, and $200 for suites, with pre-booked Bermuda shore excursions automatically cancelled and refunded.
